Give DeKalb County New Participant Resources


  • February 1: Nonprofit Registration Opens
  • March 1: Deadline to become a 2026 DNCP Member
  • April 1: Deadline to Register for Give DeKalb County
  • April 10: Deadline to Complete Your Giving Day Profile, including:
    • Register as a tax-deductible organization with the IRS
    • Attest that your organization is compliant with applicable state fundraising laws.
  • April 23: Mail-In Donation Period Begins
  • May 7: Give DeKalb County 24-hour Online Giving Day!
  • May 7: Mail-In Postmark Deadline
  • May 7: Donation Drop-Off Event
  • May 21: Anticipated Final Grand Total Announcement
  • A philanthropic event featuring multiple ways for donors to support nonprofit organizations located in or serving DeKalb County, Illinois.
  • Online: GiveDeKalbCounty.org
    • May 7
    • Midnight to midnight on the giving day by credit card, Mobile Wallet, or bank transfer
    • Minimum donation = $5
  • Check by Mail:
    • April 23 - May 7
    • Complete the mail-in donation form indicating the organization(s) and donation amount(s)
    • Write a single check for the total amount payable to “DCCF”
    • Mail check and form to DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178
  • IRA by Mail:
    • Initiate distribution with your IRA custodian directed to the DeKalb County Community Foundation
    • Complete the mail-in donation form indicating the organization(s) and donation amount(s)
    • Mail form to DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178
    • The distribution from your IRA should match the total amount you indicate on your mail-in form - please start this process as early as possible to avoid delays
  • DAF by Mail:
    • Make a distribution from your Donor Advised Fund directed to the DeKalb County Community Foundation
    • Follow the IRA by Mail process
    • Note: Donor Advised Funds held at the DeKalb County Community Foundation will be contacted and follow a different process
  • Community Partners give to the Bonus Pool.
  • Donations made during Give DeKalb County leverage bonus funds.
  • The Bonus Pool is distributed proportionately.
  • EXAMPLE: If a nonprofit raises 2% of the Give DeKalb County grand total, they receive 2% of the Bonus Pool. If they raise 5% of the grand total, they receive 5% of the Bonus Pool.
  • No single organization may receive more than 7% of the total Bonus Pool in a given year.

  • DCNP has Give DeKalb County yard signs to post throughout DeKalb County. The yard sign distribution process is communicated by email to Give DeKalb County contacts.
  • DCNP also owns Give DeKalb County banners to be placed in geographically strategic locations for high visibility prior to the event.
