  • By IRA: You may use your IRA during Give DeKalb County. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a transfer of funds from your IRA custodian payable to a qualified charitable organization. By April 5, initiate the distribution with your IRA custodian--directed to the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Then complete the mail-in donation form and mail it to the DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178 - postmarked April 22 - May 6. The distribution from your IRA should match the total amount you indicate on your mail-in form.

Due to COVID-19, the Give DeKalb County Committee decided to proactively cancel walk-in donations for the safety of volunteers, staff, and participants.

In April, a mail-in donation form will be added to the website. Complete the form indicating the organization(s), and donation amount(s), then write a single check for the total amount payable to “DCCF.” Your check and donation form can be mailed to the DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178 - postmarked April 22 - May 6.

Donations will not appear on the website until the giving day on May 6. Depending on the volume of donations, there is no guarantee that donations postmarked after April 26 will be visible on the website by May 6. As mailed donations continue to arrive after the giving day, they will be added to the website and the leaderboard and organizational totals will continue to increase. All mailed donations must be postmarked between April 22 and May 6.

If you are feeling sick, please donate online instead of by mail. Volunteers and staff will take precautions in handling mailed donations, but we appreciate your consideration of their safety and well-being.
