Our Story
Sweet Life Garden Group, Inc is a volunteer led & run community gardening nonprofit in DeKalb County, Illinois.
We Grow To Give: Food, Flowers & Friendships.
Our food gardens are created to directly serve those of us in our community who shop at food pantries and/or reside in low-income housing, with site-grown, easy-access, nutrient-dense produce:
- Salem Lutheran Church Food Pantry Garden, inaugural site in Sycamore, Illinois - garden expansion in progress. Supplies needed: garden soil, row covers
- Taylor Street Plaza Garden, in support of Housing Authority of the County of DeKalb - garden expansion planned. Supplies needed: garden soil, lumber
Our flower gardens provide uplifting, comforting bouquets for local homebound.
- Meals On Wheels Garden, in support of Voluntary Action Center
- Hallgren Park, in support of DeKalb Park District
We are proud of our friendship gardens which provide yard beautification support for
- DeKalb's Barb City Manor and
- Hope Haven of DeKalb County
Your donation will provide us with the support we need to continue our mission of creating a positive, local impact through hands-on gardening.
Our desire to 'grow to give' is deeply rooted in a nostalgic spirit of neighborly service for our good people of DeKalb County, Illinois.
